Originally, there were two stations at Buxton. Side-by-side, they served two different companies; the London and North Western (LNWR) and London Midland and Scottish (LMS). Sadly, the Midland Station (on the right in this photo) was demolished in 1970, a victim of the “Beeching Axe.”
In the summer of 2016, the Friends of Buxton Station were given a scale model of the demolished Midland Station. Carefully engineered in the late 1980s from scale drawings and photographs, it was donated by the surviving member of the modelling team, Barry Bryant.
