Right now you’re browsing the Wonders of the Peak digital platform through the richer “Armchair Wonders” view. From this viewpoint you can browse all the Wonders, and see the full content for each one. You can also access My Wonders – your personalised collection of any Wonders that you have saved as you browse.
However, to get the complete experience, try accessing Wonders of the Peak through a mobile device (a smartphone or a tablet).
Use your mobile to look up objects during your visit to the Wonders of the Peak exhibition in the Museum.
Use your mobile to generate and download a tour to follow in the landscape, based on the Wonders.
What do I do next?
If you would like to try using your mobile, simply visit wondersofthepeak.org.uk in your mobile’s web browser. Your browser should automatically offer you a choice of Museum and Pocket Wonders.
Initially, you will need to visit the website using your mobile’s internet connection or nearby wifi. When you visit Buxton Museum & Art Gallery you will be able to access the on-site public wifi. If you choose to generate a tour using Pocket Wonders, you can then safely go offline and continue to access your tour.
The Museum and Pocket Wonders experiences happen entirely in your mobile’s web browser: there are no extra apps to download. To use Pocket Wonders out in the landscape you will need to allow the website to access “location services”.
