Kettle with cut-away section
DERSB : 2008.61.1
Kettle with cut-away section, made for product promotion by Otter Controls, Buxton, 2005.
The side cut-away shows the element, bimetallic control and the cut-out mechanisms patented by Otter Controls in 1946, and still manufactured in Buxton. These components are what automatically turns off your electric kettle when it starts to boil.
