You should be standing with your back to Fernilee Reservoir, looking down the overflow. Just beyond this feature are the remains of the filter house. The reservoir was officially opened here in 1937 by Alderman George Padmore who was inspecting the reservoir and was given the key to the filter house. Inside, Alderman Padmore opened up the water supply to the reservoir through the large, cast iron filter vessels that lined the building.
